Backend platforms, and the infrastructure under them
I'm a software engineer based in Vancouver with a track record that spans both sides of the stack. At Friendlier, I designed a data model from scratch using domain-driven design and built the API platform that let every client application move off direct Firebase access. At Awesense, I built multi-tenant Kubernetes environments and owned production GKE deployments for new clients.
I like systems that are honest about their invariants — two-layer validation, RBAC enforced at the API boundary, infrastructure defined as code rather than clicked together by hand. I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc in Computer Science, and I'm currently working through the LFCS and CKA certifications.

- Led the design and implementation of the Friendlier API, a centralized backend platform enabling multiple applications to migrate off direct Firebase SDK access
- Designed a relational data model from scratch using domain-driven design (DDD) to support packaging, logistics, orders, and operational workflows
- Designed and implemented RESTful APIs with consistent URL structures, HTTP semantics, and action-oriented endpoints
- Built a modular monolith backend in TypeScript, balancing extensibility with simplicity while avoiding premature microservices
- Built a two-layer validation system: external DTO validation for client requests and internal entity-level validation to enforce domain invariants before persistence
